Montessori at Home
I have been busy looking at Montessori teaching methods on YouTube and different blog sites by ex-Montessori teachers. Here are a few that I find really helpful to prepare myself for using this method to teach daughter:
Montessori World http://homepage.mac.com/montessoriworld/mwei/default.htm
Montessori at Home http://moosehuntress.blogspot.com/
My Montessori Journey http://mymontessorijourney.typepad.com/my_montessori_journey/
Good Tree Montessori Homeschool http://goodtreemontessori.wordpress.com/
Chasing Cheerio http://chasingcheerios.blogspot.com/
From the internet I found some companies that sell Montessori materials:
Montessori Outlet http://us.montessorioutlet.com/
Montessori Research and Development http://www.montessorird.com/index.php
Yesterday I told husband that I will start a half-day schedule (9am-3pm) with daughter in August, Allah SWT willing. I will schedule frequent breaks since daughter has a short attention span. I am now in the process of setting up her 'classroom' in the living room. I think if I make it fun for daughter she will enjoy the learning process.
