Scratch, scratch, scratch...

After reading about how chickens love to scratch for bugs in compost bins, I decided to let the ladies do so on Sunday. Since then, they have been scratching like crazy every time I let them go to the compost bins.



I raked dried leaves around the compost bin, and the ladies have been scratching so much that the leaves are all over the place. Yesterday I removed the compost bin enclosure so that the ladies have easier access to scrap veggies.

Daughter loves to watch the ladies scratch around the compost bins because she also gets to have some fun by kicking leaves around. She can find joy and fun in the simplest tasks so easily.
