New Roof and Food Waste Disposal

Over this weekend the landlord hired contractors to fix the leaky roof and replace the leaky food waste disposal in the kitchen. The roof section above the closet in our home office leaked when it rained heavily last Friday. The leaky food waste disposal was left behind by the previous homeowner, so it was time to replace it anyway.

Today the contractors will install a patio just outside the kitchen french doors. I wore my head scarf all day on Saturday and Sunday when the contractors were here from late morning till evening. Allah SWT willing hope the concrete patio will be done by today.

Now that we've lived in this house for a while, we are more aware of maintenance cost of old houses by homeowners. Allah SWT willing when we are ready to buy our own old house, we will budget accordingly for home repairs and replacement costs.
