Apple or Candy?
This morning daughter and I went to Whole Foods Market to get organic produce.
After I paid for our purchase, the cashier offered daughter a choice of an apple, lollipop or fruit roll.
Daughter looked at me, looked at the selection, looked at me again and seemed lost.
I told her to pick one. I wanted to see what would happen next.
Well, guess what did she pick? An apple! All praise be to Allah SWT!
The cashier said to daughter 'Good, healthy fruit.' We thanked him and left the store.
Honestly I wasn't sure that daughter would pick the apple. When we browsing in the store, she did asked me to get her some candy, but I said 'Not today.' After that she didn't press me further. Even at home, she will only have fruits and juice, and at home I don't keep candy that is within her sight and reach.
Allah SWT willing I do hope that she will continue to make good choices by herself as she grows older.
