Child-Centered Learning
Our living room is daughter's territory.
Her books, toys, games and art easel line along the walls. The empty space in the middle of the room is her football field, bowling lane, dance floor and construction/demolition area.
Personally I feel that the home should be a place that provokes curiosity and promotes continuous learning. I want to create an environment which will motivate her to discover new skills and knowledge. So I set up the living room to be an adventure land, the patio as nature study area while the kitchen and bath tub will serve as science labs in the near future. The only place that is off-limit is the bedroom because that is where we rest and relax.
I'm glad that husband shares my view about optimizing our entire living space. Our space should provide some purpose so that every square inch is worth every penny of our monthly rent.
Sometimes I worry that I may run out of time to teach all the wonderful things about this earth to daughter. But husband always remind me to trust in Allah SWT, because He will give daughter what I cannot provide.
I guess husband knows best about trusting Allah SWT.
