Book: Teaching with Love and Logic

Two years ago when I worked at the school, the school administration organized a workshop 'Teaching with Love and Logic'. After I attended it, I bought the book from a nearby Half Price Books store.

Teachers at the school told me that they've used the techniques outlined in the book with great success in their classrooms. I also tried to implement some of the techniques when I worked there with good results. When I started to give students choices that would produce results that I wanted, it really worked. Also when I let the students put on their thinking hat and let me know how they would change their behavior to have a more positive outcome, there was no tension between the students and me because they were more aware of postive consequences due to their desire to change. I don't believe in nagging people to do things or change their behavior, and 'Teaching with Love and Logic' has the same principle.

The techniques used in 'Teaching with Love and Logic' can be applied at home too. Now that DD1 is almost 4 years old, I will start using Love and Logic techniques on her. Allah SWT willing this book will be on my daily reading list.
