Happy Birthday Singapore!

Today is my home country's birthday since officially gaining independence in 1965. Here is the national anthem, thanks to http://home.pacific.net.sg/~linachoo/singapore3.htm

In 1986 I participated in the National Day Celebration as I was in the school choir. It was an exciting experience to watch the parades, performances and fireworks. I never felt to proud to be a Singaporean until then, and everyone there were so happy while singing, screaming and dancing at the end. By the time I got home, it was almost midnight as it was so difficult to get on public transport due to the crowd.
