Yesterday daughter and I went to the Fritz Park in Irving for the Dallas Muslim Homeschool Group family picnic. Along the way we picked up a friend who was interested to join in this event.
All praise be to Allah SWT the park was easy to find and it was a beautiful day. The park is about the size of two football fields and there are two sets of playground.
We arrived there around noon and found one family there. They shared their home baked pizza with us and it was really good! I took the opportunity to give them a bag of halal 'Super' instant rice cereal made in Singapore to do my part to promote Singapore's good reputation :)
I forgot where I put my digital camera so I have to 'borrow' the photo above from the City of Irving to show my dear sister how the park looks :)
As the wind was blowing at 20 miles per hour, my eyes were started to get irritated by flying pollen. So after staying for 40 minutes we said goodbye to the family and went home.
Allah SWT willing I hope that we have more opportunities like this to hang out with other homschooling families in the DFW area.
