What a Beautiful Day to Fly Kite!
All praise be to Allah SWT we had such a lovely day today!
I brought daughter to visit a friend, Sr. Malika around noon. I'm so glad to have the opportunity to sample her delicious Moroccan-style chicken with sweet peas! Sr. Basira joined us later and we chatted for a while. I gave them a bag of the five stones game each and I was surprised that Sr. Malika knew the game well! Turn out that she played this similar game in Morocco when she was growing up! Sr. Basira also mentioned that the game is similar to the game , Jacks, that American kids play.
Regretfully daughter and I had to leave around 3pm. When we got home, husband wanted to go to the Chisholm Park as the weather is really cool and nice. Lots of families brought their children to the playground. Some were cycling while others were fishing.
Although there was a slight breeze, husband decided to try flying a kite. Daughter tried to help husband by running with the kite's string while husband threw the kite in the air. I had a great time sitting on the grass and relaxing!
Before we left the park I noticed that a new restroom building is under construction near the park's entrance. I am so thankful that soon we won't have to use the 'yucky' portable restrooms!
